PR and Content Intern – three months (paid)

The job

This is a unique opportunity for a PR or journalism graduate or undergraduate to gain a minimum of three months’ hands-on experience at one of the UK’s fastest-growing tech companies.

You will be helping to build brand awareness for The Lead Agency through the writing and promoting of high quality content across a variety of channels. Plus, you’ll get the chance to pitch stories to target publications and help the business build strong relationships with key journalists.

The role is perfectly suited to an ambitious and talented writer who would like to pursue a career in PR, journalism or content marketing. Work or placement experience in a similar area of work would be advantageous, but what we’re really looking for is someone with a positive, can-do attitude who is keen to learn.

This paid internship is initially being offered on a part-time (two to three days per week) and short-term (three month) basis although there is the potential to extend both the hours and length of the programme if it’s right for both parties.

The responsibilities

This is a hands-on, entry-level position with a wide range of responsibilities. These include:

  • Researching and writing high quality content for the TLA website
  • Managing TLA’s social media platforms
  • Forming relationships with key publications and journalists
  • Writing case studies and press releases
  • Editing and publishing content for the TLA website
  • Supporting the brand manager with internal communications
  • Some administrative activity to support the team

The skills

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A graduate or undergraduate on a PR or journalism course
  • A strong writer who has experience of writing press releases and/or blog posts – even if only as part of their coursework
  • A strong researcher who will draw from a number of sources to get the right insight and information
  • A diligent individual who believes quality matters and is willing to work hard to achieve it
  • A hard worker who is happy to help others wherever they can, even if a request falls outside of their remit
  • A positive and friendly team player
