.NET Developer - Consumer Engagement
The Job

.NET Developer required by The Lead Agency’s consumer engagement development team who have responsibility for all the consumer facing technology.

TLA is a customer acquisition business so our primary activity is trying to engage with consumers in market to buy the products our clients are selling. Our core focus has always been within automotive sales however this has expanded over the past couple of years into areas such as property.

We engage with consumers using a range of technologies and our approaches are continuously evolving. Currently, our core activity is via:

  • Our own network of websites such as Carkeys.co.uk, Askaprice.com, TheStudyNetwork.co.uk
  • Direct lead generation activity within social media channels such as Facebook
  • Our bespoke publisher advertising technology which we run across a network of 3rd party websites
  • Automated chatbots
  • Microsite and landing page activity for specific campaigns

As .NET Developer you will have the opportunity to work across these areas utilising the latest technologies and systems such as:

  • .NET Core & MVC
  • Umbraco
  • Typescript, Angular2, Vue.js, webpack
  • .Net Bot Framework, LUIS and Watson NLPs
  • HTML/SASS
  • SQL Server and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cosmos.
  • Caching systems such as Redis
  • Azure including ServiceBus, Event Hubs Logic apps and functions

You will report directly to the Engagement Team Leader, contributing to applying the methodology, approach and processes we use across the wider development team.

The Responsibilities

As a .NET Developer your primary responsibility will be to develop the websites and solutions required to help our business engage with in-market consumers.

TLA expect their staff to contribute ideas and develop a passion for the products they work on meaning you will have significant input into the direction of these technical solutions. You will be involved at all stages of the development lifecycle and will need to collaborate with internal stakeholders and other teams, especially digital marketing and design/ux on a daily basis.

In addition to your developer role, you will also be responsible for the following:

  • Researching new technology and approaches.
  • Contributing to team process, technical approach and development standards
  • Mentoring junior team members.
The Skills

We are looking for an accomplished .NET Developer with a passion for technology and who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment. We’re not a large corporate and, while we have strict process and standards, we try hard to maintain a smaller business culture and approach as this allows us to maintain the dynamism required for the rapidly evolving market we work in.

You will have commercial experience working on public facing websites and engagement systems so a core understanding of SEO, site architecture, page structure etc.

The following are the minimum specific requirements for this role:

  • At least 3 years’ experience working on public facing C# .Net web projects
  • Technical experience working with:
    • MVC
    • .Net Core/WebAPI development
    • Typescript/Angular (or other JavaScript frameworks)
    • HTML/SASS
    • SQL Server
  • Minimum 2nd class degree in computer science, mathematics or another science-based subject

Any of the following would be beneficial:

  • Umbraco experience
  • Experience working on AdTech based software
  • Performance optimisation
  • Cloud services such as Azure
